Birmingham based duo Wavy Gang are the new kids on the block gradually making a name for themselves in the UK scene. Individually known as Yemz and DDroid, the duo came together after realising the musical chemistry they had when freestyling. The pair both have an extensive musical background and credit their unique, eclectic sound to having a vast musical palette as well as their Nigerian heritage, which meant they grew up in Church surrounded by different sounds from various cultures. 
 After around a year of making music for leisure alongside university, the duo prematurely ended their studies and decided to pursue music full time. The pair adopted the Wavy Gang moniker they’d become popular for over the years and in 2018, released their debut single.
 That same year Wavy Gang joined Lotto Boyzz on their Afrobbean tour, establishing themselves as the kind of performers with stage presence that can’t be taught after a string of high energy performances up and down the country. It’s clear to see that Yemz and DDroid are a dynamic duo, making music with an understated flair and finesse, that balances rich Afro-inspired melodies with smooth Trap/Grime flows and energetic beats. This kind of formula coupled with a natural charisma defines them as ones to watch in 2019.
