Top Bunk is a cult of musicians, visual artists and creators hailing from Silver Lake, CA. This rag-tag group of friends came together in hopes of building a scene bigger than each could hope to make individually. They do it for the love of music, art, and most of all- their supreme muse and icon, MOM. The members of Top Bunk bring together an eclectic mix of tastes and talents, but are tied together by two common threads- a penchant for the strange and a refusal to take themselves seriously. As instrumentalists, beat-makers, artists and friends, Top Bunk use their local garage studio called Hotel London as a launchpad for their ideas and crazy schemes. Best described as digital punk rock for the post-rave wasteland, Top Bunk’s music reeks of local grime and transcendent debauchery. Over glitchy drums and shrieking baselines, frontman Petro A.P. drawls the story of a house party blown through a busted tube amp. The A.D.H.DJs are switching up the song every 45 seconds, your friend’s disappeared with some leather jacket with a haircut, and you just found love in a bathroom line. Or have you? Top Bunk’s debut single, “Figure It Out,” is the hungover reflection of our hardest romantic nosedives. It’s about exploring old relationships, facing the patterns, but ultimately deciding to relinquish control and just enjoy the ride. And when it comes time for the next one- Top Bunk will have the soundtrack ready. Praise MOM.
