Hailing from Australia, alt-americana troubadour Tim Wheatley returns with his first release since making for England. Walking a path cut by earnest writers such as Paul Kelly, Tim Rogers and Nick Cave, Wheatley armed himself with songs written after trading-in the sunny shores of California, for the hard-hearted streets of East London. He then teamed up with ARIA award winning producer Steven Schram to bring you the sentimental and salacious single - ‘Sex with Strangers’. Wheatley’s debut solo album ‘Cast of Yesterday’ was released in 2015, and reached No.9 on the ARIA Country album chart. Produced by Paul McKercher (You Am I, Augie March, Josh Pyke) at Melbourne’s ‘Sing Sing’ studios, and later mixed by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Don Henley) at Capitol Studio’s, Hollywood. Having then signed with SONY, he produced his sophomore album ‘Pillar to Post’ in 2017. The album was made in two parts while Wheatley was straddling the Pacific between Australia and his new home in Los Angeles. Produced by both Justin Stanley (Leonard Cohen, Eric Clapton, Beck) and long-time collaborator Michael Badger (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), Wheatley took ‘Pillar to Post’ on the road, featuring performances at SXSW (Austin, TX), Americana Fest (Nashville,TN) and a residency in Hollywood's famed ‘Hotel Cafe’.
