Where the Waves Are Born (WTWAB) is a 6 piece post-hardcore/melodic hardcore act hailing from Asturias, Spain, mostly inspired by international bands such as While She Sleeps, Heart in Hand, The Ghost Inside and Counterparts. Consolidated in 2018, its line-up consists of Guille Menéndez (Drums), Guille Rodríguez (Vocals), Javi Villamaña (Bass), Luigi López (Vocals), Miguel Ferreño (Guitar) and Víctor Barrero (Guitar). Although marked by distance through its lifetime, with each member living in a different city, the band’s continuity represents the victory of perseverance and bonding in the face of the great challenges that come in our way. Where the Waves Are Born is now proudly presenting their sophomore work ‘SUNDERED’ out March 13th. This 6-track effort seeks to bridge the gap between the aggressive side of hardcore punk and melodic hardcore bands from the mid 2010s and recent trends in modern metal with poppier hooks and choruses. The semi-concept work is however complete by the incorporation of powerful and poetic lyrics, painting a six-point perspective on relatable inner challenges and obstacles.
