Hailing from small town Wanganui in NZ and growing up in Sydney Australia, Shavaun Marie started song writing at the tender age of 14. With big influences from her Dad and her family, Shavaun’s passion for singing and performing flourished. She learnt how to play guitar and discovered the art of pouring her energy and emotions into a song. In 2012 Shavaun won the national “Urbanstar Talent Quest” and started her music career as a solo independent artist. With the recognition she received from “Urbanstar” she had numerous performances at “Battlegrounds” in Australia as well as being one of the opening acts for “Blackstreet”. Shavaun decided to join RnB girl group Paris Inc, they auditioned for Australian “X-Factor” and made it through to the home visit round, this caught the attention of Nils Gums, LA based manager of the group “Carmen” & global superstar “AKON”. Paris Inc released their debut single “Lost My Mind” in 2016 which was received particularly well across NZ radio and TV with a small promo tour in Auckland and Christchurch. Despite Paris Inc’s success, the group decided to go their separate ways in order to focus on their individual artistry. Shavaun Marie has spent a lot of time discovering herself as a recording artist and refining her sound. Her debut solo single “Ups & Downs“ is set for release in late 2018, it is a feel good summer track set to have you singing along. She is excited about sharing this side of her music with NZ & the world.
