I think this is one of the most important bands today.” – Wasser-Prawda (Germany) “Great grooves, thought provoking lyrics, infectious hooks, sweet slide guitar work and mountains of superb tone.” - No Depression (USA) It has been two decades now since Tom Gray and Mark Johnson started playing slide guitar together — Mark on bottleneck and Tom on lap steel —first for the pure joy of it in their homes and studios, and then in clubs, coffee shops and barbecue joints around Atlanta. The name Delta Moon came to Mark on a pilgrimage to Muddy Waters’ cabin near Clarksdale, Mississippi, when a gigantic full moon rose over the highway. Once they added bass and drums, Delta Moon quickly gathered a wall-full of local “best” awards. After winning the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2003, the band widened its travels to include the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has worked steadily on the road and in the studio ever since. Bassist Franher Joseph joined Delta Moon in 2007, adding a deep rhythm pocket and rich bass vocals. Delta Moon’s latest album, Babylon is Falling, was released September 21, 2018. The band’s 10th studio recording, it peaked at #3 on the American blues-rock record chart, according to the Roots Music Report.
