Each title on the album was a girl's name - "we wanted to do something in the vein of Nick Cave's Murder Ballads or Johnny Cash's Blood, Sweat & Tears. I stripped it back and it literally went from there. The whole project had its own little concept without being forced. I'd pick a name, then write a character story around it, which is exactly how I used to write when I was 18”.
