Rising artist and singer-songwriter Rashawn “RA-SHWN” Colton has been intrigued by music and entertainment for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, RA-SHWN was influenced by music videos—from the likes of Michael Jackson, Usher, Missy Elliott and Diddy—at a young age. By high school, RA-SHWN started to hone his skills and artistry, writing songs and directing, shooting, and editing music videos. Since graduating college, RA-SHWN has created engaging, compelling, and high-quality video content for brands and digital media networks such as Complex, MTV, MTV2, Cosmopolitan and O, The Oprah Magazine.   Embracing the sound of the ‘90s and today’s popular music, RA-SHWN has created his own unique and versatile sound that fuses R&B with hip-hop influences. RA-SHWN debuted his first official singles, “Pick Up Where We Left Off’ and “Too Cool.” As an independent artist, RA-SHWN has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify alone. RA-SHWN has also collaborated with Apple for their #TodayAtApple series, where he performed his music and shared his journey on the road to success. Even as a new artist, RA-SHWN maintains full creative control over his sound and music videos, including directing, shooting and editing. RA-SHWN is a talented up-and-comer who wears many hats, and is definitely the breakout artist to watch in 2022.
