The 2021 Australian indie rock scene witnessed the birth of Sundew and their captivating fresh sound. Emerging from the Sunshine Coast, the quintet's distinct sound mirrors their relaxed coastal way of life. Their inviting minimalist tunes combined with tuneful bass lines and edgy lead guitar render them akin to bands such as The Growlers and Cage the Elephant. Nala Gleeson (Vocals), Roark Alberts (Guitar & Keys), Christian Butterworth (Lead Guitar), Sol Masters (Bass), and CJ Essen (Drums) all contribute to the song-writing process individually and collectively, enabling their musical influences like Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, and Ocean Alley to shine through. Having performed gigs between the Sunshine Coast and Byron Bay, SUNDEW has already amassed a devoted following. Sundew’s newest song ‘Peach Ice’ is poised to further expose their sound and message to old and new fans alike.
