Danny Felix is a songwriter, recording artist, producer, and creator of the new popular style of Mexican music trap corridos (or “Corridos Tumbados”), a method that incorporates hip-hop elements into the traditional corrido stylings. He is considered to be one of the best guitarists in regional music. Felix was the first Mexican music guitarist to record and produce a collaboration of cultures with Puerto Rican singer/rapper Bad Bunny for the remix of the song “Soy el Diablo” ft Natanael Cano, managing to create an “urban regional” sound that appealed to a younger generation of regional Mexican fans. Though Danny Felix began playing at a young age, he established himself as a producer of top shelf Regional artists including Luis Coronel, Natanael Cano, Tito Torbellino Jr and many more. Felix currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona. He began playing in his family’s music group at 10, learning to play the guitar, bass, accordion, and by age 18 he was already writing songs. In 2013 he produced his first hit, recording all the instruments to the song “Dime Que Te Paso” for artist Luis Coronel. He then launched the cover “F**k It”, a bold single by R&B vocalist Eamon Doyle. This cover took social media by storm, mixing the Mexican folk music traditions of sierreño with English lyrics. It received so much acceptance and attention that the original singer Eamon congratulated Felix on the piece. The Sinaloan artist continues to create new and diverse music for him and other artists.
