After debuting themselves back in 2014 with their debut EP ‘Visions Of You’, Los Angeles and Stockholm-based production duo ROOM8 have been quick to make a name for themselves in the world of expansive and cinematic electronic music. With recent collaborations alongside the likes of Little Boots, The Sound Of Arrows, Morgxn and Electric Youth, which led to a number of topspots on HypeMachine, the pair have returned to announce the details behind their highly anticipated new album ‘Transduction’. Taking influence from the synth-heavy sound of the late 70s and early 80s, made popular by fellow contemporaries Kavinsky and M83, ‘Transduction’ looks to cement the producers as a leading figure in broad and progressive electronic music. Fresh off the back of composing the score to the upcoming 2019 film Cuck, the duo have looked to create a record filled with bold and exciting ideas, that all come together to form a mesmerising and eclectic new release. Leading the charge is their latest single ‘West’ featuring vocal contributions from singer Mavrick. Keeping in line with much of this new record, the new track brings together their vast array of synthesizers to create a fresh and euphoric aesthetic, while also keeping within the vein of the album’s overall hard-hitting and powerful sound. -Mystic Sons
