As a teenager she was well on her way to becoming a professional wake-boarder – but Maryne left the still lakes and sports school to pursue her musical dream. With so much vocal potential that she ought to be discov-ered over and over again. Maryne vibrates with energy when she talks about her music. Her voice is seductive and vulnerable, pure and proud, soft and strong at the same time. «I love to use it very simply and honestly» explains the 24-year-old who raves about Julia Stone's velvety voice and Billie Eilish's no bullshit attitude. Not to mention her admiration for pop stars like Dua Lipa, Halsey, Ellie Goulding or Lana Del Rey. As an 11-year-old, inspired by her role models, she learns to play drums, listens to Supertramp and Radiohead, and smashes Bohemian Rhapsody in her tiny teenager room. Nowadays, Maryne unites these opposites and brings them to life on stage where she truly feels at home. Maryne’s songs always start with a feeling: writing down helps the Lausannoise to sort out her inner self. Whether in songs about heartbreaks or her fight to claim gen-der equality, we discover a self-thought and fearless passionate musician. «My lyrics are my access to the world» Maryne says. Well travelled and always looking for new adventures, at her young age, she has already experienced the world in many differ-ent ways and you can feel it in her songwriting.
