Born in Maui, Hawaii and raised in Orange County, CA Gavin Leatherwood began playing the piano and guitar as a teenager, while also honing his craft as an actor. While Gavin may now be best known for his acting roles, his budding music career exploded during the COVID-19 global pandemic as film and television productions shut down. His debut single ‘Just For Tonight’, a confident, modern folk-rock anthem jam packed with plucky guitar licks and powerful vocals, was born in lockdown and gave a taste of what was to come as Gavin began to embrace this new musical career. Co-written by Leatherwood, ‘Just For Tonight’ has so far garnered over 1 million streams, and offered a glimpse to his 4 million strong fanbase, at what would come next. Gavin’s latest single ‘Driftwood Mermaid’, released in October 2021, is a moody, brooding, slice of folk rock accompanied by a suitably beautiful and enigmatic video. Gavin says: ‘I wrote this song because I was hungover in San Diego after a wedding and was missing my ex-girlfriend. Saw sculpture of a mermaid made out of driftwood and thought… “Yeah she’ll do.’ Gavin Leatherwood is best known for his starring role as the charismatic and charming Casanova-warlock Nicholas Scratch in Netflix’s hit fantasy-horror series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” opposite Kiernan Shipka and Ross Lynch. His latest project, HBO Max’s “Sex Lives of College Girls” starring Pauline Chalamet, has also just been renewed for a second season.
