Born amidst the cold forests and frozen lakes of Finland, clad in leather and spikes, tirelessly spreading the message of the Old Metal-testament through cryptic lyrics, haunting melodies, and doomy riffs. That's what Ian E. Highhill has done his entire life as a singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and producer. Being a teenager and a young musician in the early 80s, he was strongly influenced by the NWOBHM movement, and perhaps even more by the Birmingham rock giants, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest from the 70s. It made him start a lifelong journey of playing and recording both covers and original material with various bands. In 2004, he signed his first record deal with the band Olympos Mons. They released two albums, Conquistador (2004), and Medievil (2007). After they broke up in 2010, he participated in forming another group, Astralion. The band has so far released two albums, Astralion (2014), and Outlaw (2016, Limb Music). In the spring of 2021, he released his debut solo album "Man In White" on Spotify and many other streaming platforms as a digital release. In the first two months, it already got over 40,000 streams worldwide on Spotify alone. It also received good reviews from around the world and was described as "commercialized Heavy / Doom that is not so far away from the Dio-era Sabbath, with Iommi-esque riffing and a solid performance ”. The journey goes on, the destination is uncertain, but it still is one hell of a ride. ~ Ivan Dorca
