Te Kuru o te Marama Dewes is a Super Sayan Jedi Māori ninja of the Ngāti Rangitihi and Ngāti Porou tribes, indigenous to Aotearoa (New Zealand). Te Kuru o te Marama composes music to support the revitalisation and normalisation of his native tongue, Te Reo Māori. The Māori language, along with Māori people and their environment, is reeling from 180 years of violent colonisation and ongoing oppression from the Crown. Te Kuru o te Marama creates music to uplift and empower Māori to bring their rich woven tapestries of cultural tradition to life, while inviting all people to perceive the world through indigenous eyes.
