Magnetic North & Taiyo Na is comprised of MC/tech executive Theresa "T-Vu" Vu, MC/producer Derek Kan, musician/writer/educator Taiyo Na, and music producer Chucky Kim. In 2010, Magnetic North & Taiyo Na created Home:Word, a collaborative album considered an Asian American classic. The album spawned a number of chart-topping hits in Japan and Korea as well as a music video directed by Wong Fu Productions. Phil Yu of AngryAsianMan called Home:Word “one of my favorite albums of the year,” and writer/historian Jeff Chang described it as “an album my family plays when we get together.”
