Kura, previously known as Blockboy K, is a 17-year-old rapper out of Detroit, Michigan. Aside from rapping, he’s been producing beats since he was 14 and is responsible for the majority of production across his 7 projects. He has garnered over 2.5 million SoundCloud plays and 2,500 monthly Spotify listeners all while recording and engineering himself in his bedroom. Kura began his music career while working at the well-known Bape and Supreme resell shop in Royal Oak known as Former Vintage. There he met other rappers and Michigan creatives who would help him get into releasing his own music and developing his social media. In July of 2018, Kura took his first trip to LA with the help of prominent skateboarder, Chris Chann, signifying the launch of his music career. In March of 2021, Kura accepted a production deal with SOSSHOUSE, a label started by Grammy award-winning producer/artist, Pi’erre Bourne. Known for his confident vocals, versatile flows, and dizzying melodies, Kura's style draws inspiration from rapper’s like Pi’erre Bourne, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti. His lyrics not only portray the rockstar life he’s about to have, but also the one that he currently lives.
