    The norteño trio Los Pinguinos del Norte features accordionist/vocalist Ruben Castillo Juarez, known as "el Pinguino mayor" (the top/senior penguin). They appeared in the mid-'70s documentary Chulas Fronteras, and are hosts of a long-running weekly radio program on Piedras Negras XEMU. They first recorded for Arhoolie Records in the early '70s, and their 2001 Arhoolie album Trovadores de la Frontera focuses on material from their stomping grounds of Nuevo Laredo and Piedras Negras. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
