Slowly Rolling Camera has established itself as a rising star in the European Jazz scene since its formation in 2013. The band's intense and powerful live performances, combined with critical acclaim from international press, have earned them a reputation for their signature heavy grooves, soaring hooks, and intense emotional contrasts. With three albums - Slowly Rolling Camera (2014), All Things (2016), and an EP - Into the Shadow (2015) under their belt, the band shifted its focus in 2017 towards a more instrumental approach, led by composer/keyboardist Dave Stapleton, drummer Elliot Bennett, and producer/sound designer Deri Roberts. Deutschland Radio praised Slowly Rolling Camera's "genius" in merging jazz and trip-hop, while The Guardian dubbed the band a "powerful newcomer" with "Rising Star" written all over it. The band's latest album, Where the Streets Lead, recorded in 2020, showcases a greater musical scope with the inclusion of an 8-piece string section and notable guest artists including Mark Lockheart, Jasper Høiby, Verneri Pohjola, Chris Potter, Sachal Vasandani, and the band's regular guitarist Stuart McCallum.
