EL GATO NEGRO Cat prince crowned with feathers, returns to France in 2019 to sharpen his claws after fifteen years of travels throughout South America. Totally immersed in the rhythms of cumbia, salsa, paso, cha cha and bolero, he met his brothers and sisters of music along the way (La Yegros, Calypso Rose, Oxmo Puccino…). With his first record, "Cumbia Libre" which sold 10,000 copies, this tropical band won the hearts of French and European audiences. From one place to another, the year 2018 brought this migratory bird-cat back to the francophone world, from Quebec to Paris and Burkina Faso, creating a bridge with Latin America. El Gato Negro is proud to come back to France to release his second record « Ouvre la porte » on April 19 2019. Recorded between Toulouse, Bogotá, Mazunte and Ouagadougou and mastered by the great Alex Gopher (Eddy de Pretto, Flavien Berger, Christine and the Queens). 12 songs that navigate between French and Spanish in a subtropical pop mix, where the burning sand of the Pacific Ocean meets the colorful African asphalt. A new group and a new sound, shaped by Seydou Diabaté Kanazoé’s balafon, Cyril Atef’ drums (-M-, Bumcello) and Kandy Guira’s voice (Oumou Sangaré)
