Kombilesa Mí Coming from San Basilio de Palenke, Kombilesa Mí a Colombian hip hop group that performs an electrifying fusion of traditional music and urban rap, with lyrics in both Palenke Language and Spanish. The sound of Kombilesa Mí is based on traditional rhythms such as the Sexteto, the Mapale, the bulleregue, and the chalusonga fusing them with Hip Hop creating new sonorities and contemporary musical expressions for the Colombian Caribbean Coast. The group Kombilesa Mí was born in mid 2011 as a fusion of several palenke Hip Hop groups that sought solidarity, resistance, struggle and preservation of their traditions as people of Palenke. The group is made up of nine young people proud of their ancestral roots, in the female voice of Keyla Regina Miranda, with MCS Andris Padilla Julio, José Valdez and Ali Fernando Navarro. The musicians Kendry Cassiani Cásseres in the Tambora, Edinson Miranda in Drum, Orlis Reyes In The Marímbula, Martín Elias Maza Tambor Llamador and Edwin Jose Valdez in the Maracas. Their first álbum Así es Palenke! was released in 2016 with songs that narrate and described to the culture of Palenke.
