Formed in the summer of 2016, Distance Defined are a four-piece metalcore band from all across Alaska. The band put on an engaging and energetic live show, and have shared the stage with the likes of After The Burial and August Burns Red, as well as playing their home state’s largest music festival (Salmonfest) and many local shows all over Alaska. Influenced by bands such as Fit For A King, Wage War, and Architects, Distance Defined have an aggressive, yet melodic, sound that shows plenty of emotion. This sound is perfectly portrayed on their debut record, “Destinations,” which was released in June of 2017, almost a year after the band’s formation. Most recently, the band have released two singles - “Voids” (which features Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists) and “Seven/Ninety Six” - both of which are from their upcoming EP “Hollow Heart,” due out in early 2019.
