Sanna, Shirley & Sonja are a Swedish supergroup that teamed up in 2008 for the chart-topping holiday album Our Christmas. Comprised of Sanna Nielsen (born on November 27, 1984, in Edenryd, Sweden), Shirley Clamp (born on February 17, 1973, in Borås, Sweden), and Sonja Aldén (born on December 20, 1977, in St Albans, England), the trio had not collaborated prior to Our Christmas. As solo artists, however, they were three of Sweden's most successful female pop artists in recent years. Clamp was the first of the three to reach mainstream pop success, hitting the Top Five in 2004 with the album Den Långsamma Blomman and its lead single "Min Kärlek." In 2005 she returned to the Top Five with her second album, Lever Mina Drömmar, and its lead single, "Att Älska Dig." Nielsen was the next to reach mainstream pop success. While she'd made her album debut back in 1996 with Silvertoner, she didn't score a major hit until 2006 with her fourth album, Nära Mej Nära Dej, which peaked at number 12 on the Swedish albums chart. A couple years later in 2008 she topped the charts with her sixth album, Stronger, and its smash hit, "Empty Room." The last of the three to reach mainstream pop success, Aldén made her smash hit album debut in 2007 with Till Dig, which reached number two on the charts and spawned the number three hit lead single "För Att Du Finns." She returned to the Top Five in 2008 with her second album, Under Mitt Tak. With Nielsen and Aldén at the peak of their success and Clamp only a few years removed from hers, the three teamed up as the supergroup Sanna, Shirley & Sonja in 2008 for the chart-topping holiday album Our Christmas. Released around a month before Christmas, the album spent six weeks in the Top Five, three of them at number one, and spawned the hit singles "All I Want for Christmas" and "My Grown Up Christmas List." ~ Jason Birchmeier
