MC + Rapper JANSET continually proves her versatility as a writer and lyricist. With a string of solo releases, she has demonstrated her ability to transcend genres and a fearlessness around trying new sounds from grime and alternative hip-hop to trap and jazz – with her thought-provoking words and powerful flow always stealing the show. Born in Luton + raised in North London by Turkish/Circassian parents who migrated to the UK in the 80s, JANSET developed her writing to incorporate both languages + has amassed supporters in both Turkey and the UK - taking on more creative control than ever before + shooting videos that depict parallels between the different contrasts. Formally 1 half of Stinkahbell (when it was a duo) which heavily contributed to the early days of Dubstep in the UK (2009-2013) this is where JANSET's underground MC'ing journey really started. They gained a lot of attention + toured Europe regularly performing overseas during those years. Janset established her own club night called JANSET&FRIENDS, inviting her friends from the UK scene to play in Istanbul. JANSET has had many international collabs/shows including Aga B, BBB, P Money - previously playing alongside the Grime Symphony Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios. She had a collaboration release w/ Red Bull Records for her single ‘Oh Yes!’ which was released in 2021 which really boosted her audience. She has now started a new venture with Epidemic Sound. First single will be released May 2023.
