While living in Chicago during a brutal winter, Tico Nerval grew tired of not being able to play his main instrument, the drums, inside his own apartment, since it was getting too noisy. Frustrated and with a lot of songs he'd like to work on, he decided to buy a guitar. That fact changed everything for him, since during that time, he gained the confidence to finally switch instruments and become a frontman instead and that's how The Nerval project came to life. Once back in Brazil for awhile, Tico Nerval contacted his childhood friends to embark in this new journey, working on these songs written in Chicago, but together as a band, to see what would come out of it. Fast-forward a couple of years and the project that initially had no expectations to succeed, still exists until this day.
