Ixkal started in 2014 with Gustavo Blair (Guitars) and Dennis Quant (Vocal in "6to Dia") pitch the idea of a new band with a fresh sound in the Honduran metal scene. Luis Arguello was recruited from former punk rock band Wicked as rhythm guitars and started working on the 4 song EP called "Desde las Cenizas" released that same year. Ixkal would release the first 2 iterations of their singles "Laberinto" and "Mandato" in late 2014. In 2015 Vladimir Gutierrez joined the band as the drummer and Ariel Sandoval as bass player. Once completed Ixkal went into making and recording the full length album "6to Dia" in Luis' home studio. It was a lengthy process but by 2017 the album was ready and was released with great response. Dennis and Ariel left the band in 2017 for personal issues, Eduardo Hernandez and Cristhian Sarmiento was brought to fill in as vocal and bass player respectively. We manage many gigs around 2017 and 2019 including being the opening band for Havok on its Conformicide World Tour in 2018 and taking 2nd place in the regional WOA qualifiers in 2019. Eduardo left the Band in 2019 before recording our 2nd full length album "The End of the Wicked" but without wanting to loose any momentum, Samantha Hartwell joined the band a our lead vocals with her fierce growls and sweet clean vocals.
