“Magic from start to finish.” – SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE We started this band with one rule: to make and play music we love without setting boundaries to our creativity or freedom. DEAR MOTHER is the brainchild of Dutch guitarist Merel Bechtold and Czech vocalist David Pear. “We both had demons in our individual and musical lives, but we always knew what we wanted to achieve, so when our paths eventually crossed the chemistry completely took over and there was not a grain of doubt that this is a bond of a lifetime”. And guess what? They actually met on Facebook. Despite the pandemic, in 2021, the first studio album ‘Bulletproof’ was independently released thanks to a successful crowdfunding, backed by a very loyal fanbase called the ‘DEAR MOTHER Family’. The album reached 3 millions streams being featured by editorial Spotify playlists like ‘Kickass Metal’. In 2023 DEAR MOTHER announced to continue as a 5-piece band completing the line up with Ferry Duijsens, Ruben Israel and Desmond Kuijk, after playing their sixth show on the legendary 70.000 Tons of Metal cruise. This year the DEAR MOTHER Family once again showed their incredible love and support in the crowdfunding for their upcoming EP, expected to be released in spring 2024. To celebrate hitting the first stretch goal of their campaign, the band just released their brand-new single ‘UNBREAKABLE’, being the first single of the new EP.
