Deedrah (also known as Dado) was raised in a family of musicians, began studying music at the age of five, and found inspiration in the electronic music of the day, including Jean Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and Simple Minds. His first musical foray was in the rock band Vision Quest, which disbanded in 1990. Soon thereafter, he teamed up with Christophe Drouillet at a French wave and formed the psychedelic trance act Transwave. It took the duo only three months to complete their first album, released on a small French label called Transpact. Over the next two years, Transwave released three albums (Helium, Phototrpoic, and the Land of Freedom EP) and toured throughout the world, experiencing a good deal of success in the psychedelic trance underground and scoring an international trance hit with the track "Land of Freedom." Dado started his own record label and production studio, Questionmark RDS. And in 1997, he released his first solo album, Self-Oscillation, under the name Deedrah which also signified Dado's first divergence from the psychedelic goa trance genre. Subsequent years would find Dado working under a variety of aliases, including Cypher, DanDan d Dado, and Synthetic. Future projects include collaborations with trance legends Tsuyoshi Suzuki (Tokio Drome), Astral Projection (Trust in Trance), Sid Shanti (Manumission), Avi Algranati (Space Cats), Total Eclipse, and Jaia. DJ gigs took Deedrah around the globe to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, Copenhagen, London, Tel Aviv, Montreal, Melbourne, Sydney, Athens, Sao Paulo, Moscow, and Bali. At the end of 2000, Deedrah set up a new recording studio in the Spanish countryside town of Ibiza, where he produced house and lounge music under the moniker Fédérico Baltimore and for labels like Cosmophilia, TIP WORLD, and 3D Vision. Deedrah's second album, the opus Reload, was released in 2001. The pleasurable, melodic set explores a range of hypnotic trance sounds with only hints of the psychedelica of previous Dado albums, falling somewhere in between John Digweed or Paul Van Dyk. ~ JT Griffith, Rovi
