Formed in early 2012 out of a mutual love of Doom Metal acts such as Electric Wizard, Saint Vitus, and, of course, Black Sabbath, Sacred Monster has gone on to gradually include other influences from Thrash, Black Metal, Death Metal, and NWOBHM to arrive at their current style. Their music alternates between oppressive doom riffs, chainsaw thrashers, and eerie acoustic passages. The band also has a love of lyrical topics such as mythology, Lovecraftian horrors, and even old Twilight Zone episodes.
