Biyografi
Kalapana is an American pop-rock band from Honolulu, Hawaii, formed in 1973. The original members consisted of Malani Bilyeu, Mackey Feary, D.J. Pratt and Kirk Thompson. Kalapana released their debut self-titled album in 1975, featuring Jackie Kelso on sax and flute, Bill Perry on bass, and Larry Brown on drums. The album was a big success in Hawaii and Japan. Kalapana released their second album Kalapana II in late 1976. The group added bassist and vocalist Randy Aloya (replacing the departed Feary), sax and woodwinds player Michael Paulo, and drummer Alvin Fejarang. The band’s third album Kalapana III was released in 1977. Kalapana’s fourth album Many Classic Moments, a soundtrack to the Gary Capo surf film of the same name, was released in 1978. Kalapana continued as a six-piece with the 1979 album Northbound. In 1980, DJ Pratt and Alvin Fejarang continued as Kalapana and released Hold On and the live album Japan Jam Live, both Japan-only releases. The band would then go on hiatus.
