They got fresh water where I come from And if they let you in you can have some It's no bother, you can have some of mine They put chemicals in to control your brain But don't mind those, still tastes the same Everybody drinks it, so it must be fine They got fresh air, they say it's clean If there's something in there, well it can't be seen So everybody breathes it, it's just a little bit of fog They got big ol' towers that scrape the sky You can climb for hours til you're way up high Oh the view would be brilliant if it wasn't for the smog The water that they give you is poison It washes all the worries from your mind It makes you see reason It snuffs out the treasonous kind There's puddles round the drain But there's poison in the rain Drink any other water you can find The children will tell you they are thirsty But you must not let them drink Or by the time your children have grown They will have forgotten they were ever allowed to think! They got fresh water where I come from It keeps you in line, it makes your brain numb But the children are dying, they'll have to drink some They make you crazy And then they make you like it I'm getting hazy I never felt nothing quite like it They make your mind shrink Then they convince you that you're guilty And the more that you drink The more it makes you feel thirsty The water from the creek tastes fresher They don't put anything in there Pure H2O, and it seems to flow from nowhere Drinking it will free you Just don't let them see you They'll hang you for that, beware
