I've got cotton balls in my ears I've been collecting them for many, many years They keep the noise away They keep the voice at bay Cotton balls dry my tears I've got toothpicks in my eyes So I don't forget to keep them open wide Make sure they never close It's the only way to know For certain nothing ever gets inside I've got a paper bag over my head I could take it off, I'll live with it instead It lets the shadows in The sun might burn my skin And with no paper bag I'd turn red
