Breeding our society
To lust for more than what we need
Drowning in hypocrisy
Doubting our democracy
Still fighting for equality
So you can live the way you please

Then my time becomes a victim of my plause
Anger boiling up in me
Tearing at my sanity
Aim towards authority
For standing up for my beliefs
Strengthen my ability
Give the words bestowed on me
Sadness and the poverty
Our country wants no one to see

And the loved ones keep escaping

There's one understanding
That love is appealing
If everyone could spend a week
Starving without food to eat
Maybe it would kill our greed
To give some love to those who need
To push past all adversity
With unabashed ferocity
A great responsibility
To take care of humanity
