Zimbru can be described as a tight-knit four piece of best friends playing a wild mix of raspy synthesizers, angular guitar riffs and lively percussion all topped off by stories of dancing, lost pets, queer love and nostalgia for never experienced past decades. The band made its debut in 2019 with a long string of shows across the country and a debut EP, entitled Little Creatures, in a nod to the Talking Heads, one of the band's formative influences. The EP consists of four tracks - Divination, Little Creatures, Terejo & Dyo. The EP got the band international attention. In a feature article, Europavox praised the band's charming debut: "Labeled as a breath of fresh air in the Eastern-European space, one cannot help but fall in love with Zimbru again and again." while NME praised the band's live shows: “Mixing skittering electronic beats with powerful vocals and glittering production, this lot’s show is well worth catching.”. With presences across European showcase festivals planned throughout the year and a new release on the way, Zimbru are getting ready for an unforgetable 2022. Their newest single, Topaz, is out everywhere May 6th.
