To me, this is the true ballad of the album I remember writing 'Loves You Like I Couldn't Do' somewhere in England Close to London Behind Jimmy Scott's beautiful grand piano The melodies and chords were there quite quickly, but the lyrics... The lyrics... We really wanted to find that spot of having the right lyrics phonetically and storywise And also leaving in the middle what kind of happened To end the relationship that we were singing about No blame, no guilt, just purely wishing someone farewell And goodluck with their next, hopefully more successful, steps in finding love When it all came together though, I remember being so so so proud And listening to the track over and over again I love it, I just love it
