I was filled with fear and wonder when He looked me in the eye.
He said follow me child and I'll lead you to new life.
A longing deep within me was stirred on that day.

He showed me how to serve my brother and love my enemy.
But then he said there's one thing, if you want to have life.
If you are my disciple then you must be crucified.

Simmering within me, I was full of pride and hate.
To strip me of myself, I knew the pain would be great.
But I longed to find freedom.
My death was the cost.

When he placed the tip of the nail against my palm, I began to fight and regret what I had done.
Doubt and fear began to flood into my mind, and for a dark and desperate moment, I tried to leave his sight, then something terrifying, overwhelming caught my sight.
There it was, a bloody cross, crucified the Christ.
His dying eyes, through the pain, somehow kept my gaze.
Then I watched, my Holy God, pour out wrath and grace.
His eyes pierced, through my soul, and He whispered through to me,
I'm forsaken so you never will be.
Than I finially understood it was not my power, but His.
With a promise, I surrendered and welcomed death.
Then my eyes opened as if for the first time.
I saw the world anew and I knew that I had been blind.
I found joy and peace.
He made me holy.
I followed him to death, He led me to glory.
