I think we're afraid of the ocean Because it shows us how big we think we are When most life runs to the forest We do all our running in our cars The ocean could kill us with its heartbeat Crash its waves on all of our shores But it sits there in silence as we worry about fighting another war And everyone's trying to move forward Like their parents taught them to do Reach for the stars and when you get there Pull them all down here to you Sometimes your heart don't feel the wind And your eyes they just can't see If we live with what we have in our hands our minds will be free But who am I to talk about the ocean? And what I think is right and wrong Any man with pen and paper Can put his thoughts into a song I walk down a street of strangers And everyone hangs their heads low The trees we need for forever when our lives come and go And we've all got bricks in our pockets Keeping us always in touch Cause when we lose communication We fear we don't have much But I promise there is a bigger picture Then the one that fits on your screen So throw your brick into the ocean and feel your heart beat
