What if no one ever felt an ounce of pain We had a world where there was never any people slain Where kids werent getting killed over Shoes and chains And inner city youth Never had to fuckin choose a gang What if our founding fathers never owned a slave What if people weren't afraid of change What if every job paid a decent wage And we got to live a life where we werent Stressed every fuckin day What if my grandpa never lost his brain Would my grandma live with lesser pain What if dreams were more than sleepin things And jobs provided more than just financial gain What if the people runnin things agreed on things Would we be engaged in battles overseas And this life is not an easy thing But I can't help but think we make it harder than it needs to be Everytime I think about just who I wanna be Something inside tells me aint too many of us free People they might come and go The things we do they fade Still we must keep on trying if We're gonna make a change What if mental health was treated like the physical What if humans were Incapable of bein synical What if good news was on the tv in the living room And people didn't judge you by the music That you listened too What if people didn't care how other people lived What if people understood what trauma is What if it was understood that Just cause you don't see it That don't mean that its not how it is Theres more to life than just the place you live They call it small world but honestly this place is big What if everybody had a place to live And people didn't starve And no one ever knew what homeless is What if we could think outside the way we think Have an honest conversation over drinks I'm not sayin we should all agree But we could find a peace And find the beauty that A difference brings Everytime I think about just who I wanna be Something inside tells me aint too many of us free People they might come and go The things we do they fade Still we must keep on trying if We're gonna make a change
