I've witnessed the ugly side of brightness
I was alone within myself,
Nothing but darkness all around, trapped inside
I know first hand that when you're consumed by darkness
It seems that there's no escape, your mind can be a horrible place
All it takes is belief to see past your current state
And faith to have the strength to face it
On a lighter note
I've accepted this is the path I chose
This is who I am, I'm in control
You can't let the past paint the portrait of your future
Or it will ruin it, it will ruin it
The outcome that you seek
Depends on the demons that you feed
They are so desperate, so desperately
Trying to catch you off your feet
But there's comfort in knowing you can find a release
Like a weight has been lifted
You can finally breathe
This Is Where We Breathe
So just take a breath and clear your mind of haste
Tread on the stable side of this beaten path
And if life were to break you down
Regain your composure
Tear out the dark pages of your book of poetry
Do whatever it takes to forget every word and
Every note you ever wrote if they knot your throat
Leave it all behind
Let a new chapter unfold
Everything comes to an end
Kick starts a new beginning
So take control
Cause it takes longer to pull
Yourself together than it does to fall apart
You'll be amazed at what you're capable of
Once you take hold, once you take hold
You can endure much more than you know
So take control, so take control
You're okay, I'll be fine
Everything will be alright
Who's to say, In due time
The end of the tunnel shines so bright
