The Loft Club, purveyors of stomping, heartfelt, sixties inspired guitar music, are an Exeter-based quintet, consisting of Daniel Schamroth, Jamie Whyte, Kieran Chalmers, Josie Stoneman and Sam Piper. Clash magazine said of the band: “The Loft Club have a sense of classicism running through their music...that chiming guitar sound, so redolent of everyone from The Byrds to Big Star.” Formed in 2016 from a string of chance meetings at shows and house parties, The Loft Club steadily built a following playing shows and festivals. In 2016, they released their debut EP entitled Heart's Desire via U.S label Lightyear Entertainment/Virgin Music. Their single Flicker, featuring Grammy-award winning, singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb charted at #66 on the US Billboard AAA Airplay Chart. The music video was also put in to rotation on MTV’s ‘Spankin New’. In Summer 2019, the band supported Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, alongside The Charlatans and Reverend & The Makers at Powderham Castle. The Loft Club's debut album ‘Dreaming The Impossible’ was released on August 7th 2020 to positive reviews: "A necessary jolt everyone needs right now, wholly uplifting" said American Songwriter Magazine, “album has jangling guitars, great harmony vocals from front man Daniel Schamroth beside Jamie Whyte and Josie Stoneman, and more than a sense of the late 60s.” said The Daily Express (UK), with 4/5 stars, and “Delivers everything that is good about British indie." said The Bristol Gig Guide.
