As I wonder at the beauty of nature around me And the moonlight it gleams through the canopy above Enraptured I'm captured and taken aback By the calming embrace of the forests I love The roots of the trees so deep and so dark Implanted in the ground, once the seedlings of time The song of the leaves and the words of the bark The whisper, come hither, that intrigues my troubled mind The wolf of the hill keeps a watch in the dark As the world lies in wait for the first glimpse of dawn He tears at the earth and he howls on the wind To the moon he so loves And each night the valleys echo with his anguished cries I'm carried away by the sound of the silence With grace and beauty divine My mind starts to wander of fantastic beasts The vivid most fantasy trapped in a starry-eyed child Mystery entwined in the tales of the woods Spears shall be shaken, wind time, wolf time Ere the moon falls Brother kill brother for purpose divine Ere the world falls How fickle the will and the want of man The dark clouds of greed that smother the dreams Of the purest of hearts, with the best of intents Yet our solace lies only in the embrace of trees
