One of 'em things that I've discovered is
It doesn't matter how long you've been in church, uh
Or how many people you've prayed for, or
Even how many scriptures you know
There comes a time in our lives, where
We all find it difficult to trust God, and
And for me and my family, that happened about three and a half years ago
As, as we lost our home and, and our car was re-possessed
For over seven months, we, we went from motel to motel, and
We're just sleeping everywhere we could
'Cause we had no where else to go
And I could remember in a motel, my wife would
Take pillows and blankets and fill the bathtub, uh
So my son could sleep there, because the
The room was too small
I began to question God, I said, "God, where are You?
Do You see what I'm going through? Do You?
Do You care about the situation I'm in?"
And it seemed like God had forgotten about me, and
As I ministered to people on, Wednesdays and Sundays, and
Many times, they would come and say, "James, could you
Could you pray for me? Can you, can you intercede for me?"
But what they didn't know at that time was
I was needing somebody to pray for me, come on
Can I get a witness, somebody? That
Come on, some time, you've poured out and you've, and you've served
And you just wanted somebody to stand in the gap and
And pray for you, when I found myself there, and
And at that moment I began to say, "God are You still here with me?"
And God shared with me, He said, "James
You gotta be able to trust Me, even when you
When you don't know why you're going through what you're going through, and
Even when it seems like I've forgotten about you, and
Even when it seems like I'm not with you"
He said, "You gotta be able to trust Me now"
He said, "And, and if you can trust Me in these times"
God said, "I'm getting ready to do something in your life
That even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it"
It was at that moment, I began to say, "Lord, I will trust You", and
And I began to worship with my family as I held my son
I began to get the words in the song, I said
"God, even though I can't see You, and
Even though I can't feel Your touch, God I still trust You
Oh God (Lord) I still believe (I'll trust You) that You're gonna make a way for me
I (Lord) still believe (it's not) that You wouldn't put (easy) me here
If You weren't gonna bring me out, and (sometimes) and at that (the) moment (pain)
God gave me this (in my) song and (life)
And to see now, the song (makes You) 'I Trust You' (seem) has blessed (far away)
Millions of people, (but, I'll trust You) all over the world, and
And God knew that (I need) somebody (to) was gonna be going through (know)
(You're) what I was (here) going through in this season of their life, and
(Through the tears and the) and He (pain) understood that He's gonna need a song
To (through the) en- (heartache) -courage the people of God (and rain), and
And now, I understand now, why (through the) God had to (tears)
Put (and) me in that situation (the pain)
In order to give (through) a song (the heartache) out of me
That would en- (and) -courage (rain) somebody right now
(Through the) I didn't (tears) understand it (and the) then (pain) but
But God, I understand now, (through the) why (heartache)
I had to go through that season (and rain)
Because, somebody listening right now
(I can) you're going through a struggle, and
(I) it seems like (will) you can't make it out
The devil's (I) been telling you that (must) there's no way you can
Get out (trust) of this mess but (You)
Somebody needs to know today that God's no (I) respector of person (can)
If He brought me and my family (I) out
God can do (will) the same thing for you
And if you believe it (I) come on (must), somebody, lift your voice right now
(Trust) and say, "God, I will (You) trust You"
Come on say

(Will) I'll trust You

(I) when I'ma get out of this
(Will) but I just believe
(Trust) that You wouldn't put me in it
(You) if You weren't gonna bring me out
(I) so I trust You
(Will) it gets hard sometimes
(Trust) I feel like

(I) but I still believe You
