"Lost It All" is, is one of the songs that I'm most proud of Uh, that Black Veil Brides have ever been involved in Um, it's a very strange song in terms of where it goes I mean, it's a song that starts out in this very dark low place And by the end of the song, it's you know, trumpets and horns and gospel singers And this whole kind of "November Rain", "Hey Jude", kinda thing happening at the end And um, it's really cool and exciting It was a song that lyrically I think is incredibly important to the story So sonically, it was very important that it fit with that lyrical content And so we spent a lot of time on the song Probably more so than anything, really crafting how the song would sound And how, where it would go, where the crescendo moment would be To where it was this big kinda moment Um, lyrically it's a bit ambiguous Um, it's sort of about the idea that Everybody feels these moments of sadness and moments of loss And sometimes I think everybody can relate to sitting alone and feeling like crap And a friend of yours comes up and starts like, you know "Come on, get fl-" and you don't want that Sometimes it's alright to let yourself live in a moment And let yourself be upset about something In so that you can show yourself that regardless of how low you feel You can always rise out of it, but not in that moment And so the song ends with the lyric "I believe we all fall down" But I don't say "but we get back up" It's just sometimes you fall down, and sometimes you feel low, and that's okay And I think that that's an important notion, and something I've never really written about Is the idea of just feeling that sense of, kind of loss for a moment And just letting yourself feel that way and not letting outside influence affect you And just really, not necessarily wallowing, but focusing your attention on that sadness So that you can rise yourself out of it but on your own terms
