How has it been since then?
Time has sped past
Too fast to make amends
With every new ailment
They pile up so high
Like the pill bottles
You take just to get by
I guess that we're lucky
Us humans these days
We're living far longer
If we can afford the ways
I'm happy to see you
After so long
I have been absent but
I'll be there from now on
When I was much younger
Until the end of my teens
My mum had to go to work
So you took me in
But since I've been working
The road has been winding
'Til one day I sat alone
Wondering where I'd been
I guess I've been lucky
For the chances I got
To see many wonders
Before my time was up
But I felt lonely
After so long
Those absent days are gone
I'll be there from now on
Who knows how much longer would Time be so kind to us?
So let us cherish whatever that's left of us
For much better or for much worse

Sitting here and explaining
My failed relationships
Were perhaps my own undoing
