"Only Love" has got a quite weird mix going on Although it sounds beat-lead We are getting slightly influenced by country music On this particular track we wanted to combine the two if we could We're really fascinated about country music in some sort of mild way I don't know if we're going to end up in Nashville Recording with Lindsey Buckingham if we get any luck in our lives I'm a huge fan of Stevie Nicks' lyrics Wanted to put those typical country blues-y bewitching lyrics About like, preaches and sin and Quite standard for those songs that quite imagery-lead But w-w-we don't normally write lyrics like that So it was quite fun to try and put those lyrics into this song, um And on the track, the beat is always pushing One of the things that made the track really work When you're doing tracks with this sort of tempo that Have got a bit of a country vibe to them In its melody and in its harmony They tend to sound a little bit lame Or a little bit too relaxed for us 'cause w-we like energy So the trick we did with this track is We took my drum track and We just literally slipped it a little bit ahead of the beat so It's always ahead and pushing Giving you the feeling that it's got more energy than it probably has
