The Ting Tings - Do It Again - Track Commentary şarkı sözleri

Sanatçı: The Ting Tings

albüm: Super Critical (Track by Track Commentary)

"Do It Again" was originally about the woman called "Deloris" dying
We left Deloris out in the final stages of writing it
But the sentiment of regret called on
It was about somebody tellin' you
To go out, do things she shouldn't do and just live
There's a big influence on this track, uh
Late 70s early 80s, Nile Rodgers and stuff like that
We're big fans
And, in fact, when we were on the island
We were lucky enough to bump into
By complete faith, Andy Taylor from Duran Duran
He became a fruity friend of ours
And we ended up producing the track with him
Uh, the album with him that he co-produced the whole record
And it was a brilliant time for us
We spent nine months locked in the studio with him in Ibiza
And the great thing about that
Was that he was obviously, majorly influenced by Nile Rodgers when he was younger
And Duran Duran had a big effect on the way they played
And their guitars and recorded
And Niles as she went on to produce some of Duran Duran's stuffs
So what was great about that is
When we were getting influenced by that style of music on this record
We were going through somebody else that have been influenced by that type of music
In their time before getting to the soul
So it was a really cool way of being able to get influenced
And inspired from something but not overcopying it
Nor making it sound too, too similar
Going through like many different forms of it
We were all on the same page
But we were all doing it slightly differently which is really nice
