"It is narrated that during the death sickness of the Prophet (pbuh) while the people were praying, the Prophet (pbuh) drew back his curtain and stood looking at them. They say his face was intensely illuminating, and there was nothing more beautiful than His face when he looked at them on that day. And then... He smiled. He signaled to them to continue the Salāh and then he closed his curtain. The Prophet (pbuh) passed away later that day... Darkness fell upon Madīnah tonight, people cried For God had given his beloved messenger a choice For so long, he had struggled now he'd won The hearts of the best believers, a generation so strong He drew back the curtain and He gazed Upon those He loved the most and He smiled His face was shining like the moon There was nothing more beautiful than the light He brought to this world Looking back now over 23 years His message changed the world People living lost in the wilderness Darkness over all He came to revive the dead hearts He awoke He brought justice, peace and love With amazing words from God that He spoke: He drew back the curtain and He gazed Upon those He loved the most and He smiled He knew that they'd come so far Did so much to get close to Him and Allah Gazing out at those standing in prayer His face like the moon For they were the fruit of his life's work Reviving the truth Right then He knew that his mission was complete For through these faces before him, the word of God will forever live So He drew back the curtain and He gazed Upon those He loved the most and He smiled He knew that they'd come so far Did so much to get close to Him and Allah What if he was standing right in front of me Would he cry Would he take my hand and embrace me in his arms With tears in his eyes Would he say to me Why did you abandon my way Did you not love me enough Would he turn and walk away If He drew back the curtain and He gazed Upon my life today Over a thousand years later and here I am Trying oh so hard There is nothing I wouldn't do For that moment in time Just to see him smile Just like He drew back the curtain and He gazed Upon those He loved the most and He smiled His face was shining like the moon There was nothing more beautiful than the light He brought to the world
