Lützenkirchen is a prolific and stylistically wide-ranging techno producer/DJ based in Munich who rose to fame in the club scene of his homeland during the mid- to late 2000s with popular tracks such as "Daily Disco" and especially "Drei Tage Wach." Born Tobias Lützenkirchen, he began releasing his productions during the late '90s under a number of aliases on a number of labels; in fact, it's difficult to account for his activity from this period because of his seemingly endless array of aliases and the obscurity of some of the labels for which they were employed. He made his debut as simply Lützenkirchen in 2005 with the 12" EP release Daily Disco on Great Stuff Recordings, the label of Munich DJ/producer Tomcraft. The track became a club anthem, appearing on over half a dozen mix albums, including releases by Ministry of Sound (Clubbers Guide Ibiza '05, 2005) and Global Underground (Lights Out 3, 2005), and it was remixed by Berlin producer Boys Noize, thereby associating Lützenkirchen with the contemporary electro scene then growing fashionable. Additional 12" EP releases by Lützenkirchen on Great Stuff Recordings followed, including Counterfunk (2005), Knight Moves (2006), Ultrashift/The Killer (2006), Music for the Girls (2007), and Paperboy (2008). In addition to these Great Stuff releases, Lützenkirchen remixed a series of tracks for the label, including Coburn's "Give Me Love" (2006), Micky Monzza & Joseph Disco's "Bounce Baby" (2007), and Tomcraft's "Boogie Nights" (2008). His output wasn't limited to just one label, however, as he produced and remixed tracks for a variety of imprints, some of them quite high-profile (e.g., his 2006 remix of John Digweed's "Warung Beach"). In 2007 Lützenkirchen founded his own label, Platform B Recordings, on which he released 12" EPs featuring productions by various artists with whom he is affiliated as well as himself. With his rise in popularity came releases of a larger scale, including the mix album Electro Food:1 (2007) and the full-length album Pandora Electronica (2008), the latter of which features his Top 20 hit single "Drei Tage Wach," released earlier in the year on Stil Vor Talent, the label of Oliver Koletzki. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
