Outside, the leaves are falling at a Frightening pace People soon will multiply At the lines on my face How does anybody stay? How does anybody know when they're lost? Lost for good Lost for good The first thing I gotta do is Get myself a job Work hard for a couple years, and buy a nasty car Parked outside, underneath the clear blue sky and Dying trees, and everyone will look at me and say "That kid, he's got it figured out He's got it figured out for now" Sometimes I do it and it takes me by surprise When everybody seems to wrap their heads around the size of the universe And the lenghts of their lives "Make sure you understand the weight of what you say" Wise words he said to me, as he turned and walked away I stood there and just sighed My hands were weak and my mouth was dry As I declared I won't be coming home I'm staying here a while I'm staying here a while While you wait And every time my name's misspelled I wonder why Can't everybody not just wrap their heads around the size of the universe And other people's lives?
