I'm writing from war-torn Ukraine
I know we're thousands of miles apart
Not too far to sense each other's pain
The bombs rain down here with no reprieve
Fear a constant in our hearts
And tonight, we're making a move to leave
Heading toward the border in the dark
A cry piercing the souls
Of Jews truly exiled
But yet, we're Jews of courage
Whose faith is stronger than war
Your love is keeping us whole
Hearts joined across the ocean
I feel you're right here with me
Supporting your holy brother

I barely recognize my Ukraine
